Happy 6 months, Jaxon! Plus our trip back home

Happy half-birthday to the most handsome, smiley, smart, and funny little boy this world has ever seen. Jaxon turned 6 months old on the 14th while we were home visiting our family and friends.

Jaxon did great on the plane ride to KC. It was another full flight so every seat was taken. The good thing about this was that the plane was FULL of little kids. I'm guessing there were about 20 kids under the age of five on that flight. We were greeted at the airport by my mom and dad. On the drive home we surprised Jake by eating at Jess and Jim's steakhouse. My grandparents and Jake's parents were there at the restaurant to surprise him again.
The rest of the time at home was spent running around and visiting as much with our families as possible. Jake's whole family, all his other 8 brothers and sisters, were in town too. It was a mini-Lester family reunion. It sure was great to spend so much time with our families while we were home. Jake hadn't seen most of his family for a year prior to this trip back to KC. We got to see our friends for a little bit while we were home, but not as much as we had liked. I did get a Momma's night out while home and went out with my best friends. Jake and I also got our first date night while we were home too. Man, I miss good ol' barbeque already!! We had family pictures taken with Mom, Dad, Kyle, Missy and the kids in Loose park. I think they're going to turn out great. I can't wait to see them when the photographer is done editing them! I also went out to the driving range and played a few holes of golf with my dad while I was home. I haven't picked up a club in a couple years but I did pretty dang well.
On the flight home from SD to KC Jaxon didn't do as great as the first time. He was so overtired he fussed for probably 10 minutes on and off before finally giving in and falling asleep. But we landed and arrived at our house and got the doggies. They were so excited to see the three of us! I bet they were starting to think we weren't coming back for them. Thank goodness for great friends, Sarah and James, who watched them for us while we were gone!

Jaxon had his 6 month well-check visit yesterday. He got three shots and one oral vaccine. He weighed 18 lbs 3 oz and was 27 inches long! The doctor said he is super healthy and is pleased with all of Jaxon's milestones. Jaxon got his first tooth the day after he turned 6 months. Jake noticed in in the morning and by the next day you could feel the sharp edges poking out of his gums. It's located on the bottom right side of his mouth. Jax never had a fever or acted really cranky while teething so hopefully the rest of his teeth will be a breeze too. Jaxon has become quite the rolly polly. If you put him on the floor he just rolls back and forth constantly. It really cracks me up! He can sit unassisted for a little while before toppling over, but he still needs some practice. Jaxon can also scoot a little bit on his back. He just digs his heels in the floor and moves that way. While on his belly he can move a little bit by pulling himself along but he doesn't get very far doing that. He is still just as smiley and funny as ever! He laughs at everything and gives his big cheesy smile to the people around him. He also thinks his cousin Grayson is the funniest kid around. While we were at the lake, just the site of Grayson would make Jaxon crack up!!

Speaking of Grayson, he finally said my name while we were home! My heart melted when I heard  UH-LEE-SHA!!! Grayson also knows who baby Jaxon and Jake are. Kensley and Jax were as cute as can be together!

We were so happy to be home and see all of you! I wish we could have stayed another few days to spend a little bit more time socializing and sharing Jaxon with you all. But we love you and will see you in December when we come home next.

I'll upload some pictures of the trip in a separate post.

Love you all,
Alycia, Jake and Jaxon
